Why the ceramic coat is not optional
The coating is most of what you are paying for. Here is the arithmetic.
Plenty of shops sell a polish on its own and it is cheaper on the day. We will not, and the reason is arithmetic, not salesmanship.
The three-year sum
The factory hard-coat is exactly what gets sanded away, so a polished lens with nothing over it has less UV protection than it did new. In year-round sun it hazes again inside a few months and wants redoing within a year. Three years of that is three appointments. A coated restoration is one. That is why it is the only thing on our price list.
What the guarantee is doing
The coat carries a three-year clarity guarantee. Haze inside that and we come back and redo them for free. It is not a sweetener. We can write it down because the coating holds. Nobody offers three years on a bare polish, and nobody could.
The case nobody books
Coating headlights that have not yellowed yet is the best value in the whole category. There is no restoration work to pay for, just protection going onto a healthy lens. On a car under three years old it is the obvious move. Almost nobody asks.
